Adonis Stevenson Continues His Amazing Recovery Hitting the Bag 10 Months After His Coma

Former World Boxing Council World Light Heavyweight champion Adonis ‘Superman’ Stevenson hit the heavy bag with lightning-fast reflexes, in a video clip posted on his Instagram on October 4, 2019, only ten months after he lost his world title after getting knocked out into a coma by Oleksandr Gvozdyk and requiring surgery. Comeback or not, the southpaw Stevenson, age 41, 29-2-1 with 16 knockouts, Blainville, Quebec, Canada, has made a remarkable recovery.

Gvozdyk will fight International Boxing Federation World Light Heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev at Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on October 18, 2019, in a WBC and IBF World Light Heavyweight title unification bout. Gvozdyk told Boxing scene “I’m very happy for him and his family,” Gvozdyk told BoxingScene at the Philadelphia Airport on arrival for his bout tomorrow. “Right now, it seems like he’s (Stevenson) a hundred percent healthy person. So, I’m happy for him, and I don’t have any burden (of guilt about what happened in our WBC World Light Heavyweight title bout last year) anymore.”
