NATE DIAZ VS. JORGE MASVIDAL IS OFFICIAL FOR THE UFC “BMF” TITLE
Las Vegas, NV (September 8th, 2019)– The unofficial title of “baddest mother(expletive)” in the UFC will soon be settled. The new BMF title will be given to the winner.
A massive non-title welterweight fight will headline UFC 244, when Nate Diaz takes on Jorge Masvidal in what is sure to be a highly anticipated showdown of two veterans of the sport.
Diaz (20-11 MMA, 15-9 UFC) and Masvidal (34-13 MMA, 11-6 UFC) was confirmed with officials after UFC president Dana White announced the booking to ESPN.
“It’s one of those fights that’s fun, that’s interesting, that the fans are into, that you want to see for five rounds. Yet it’s too big for a Fight Night, so we made it a pay-per-view,” White said. “I will end up stacking this card with killer fights, and the main event will be those two.”
UFC 244 takes place Nov. 2 at Madison Square Garden in New York. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN and ESPN+/UFC Fight Pass.
