Venganza! Mikey Garcia on March 16
By Robert Brizel, Head Real Combat Media Boxing Correspondent
Arlington, TX (March 13th, 2019)– Venganza is Spanish for revenge, and revenge on the critics who favor Errol Spence Jr. this weekend will be bittersweet for current World Boxing Council World Lightweight champion Mikey Garcia if he goes to 40-0 and wins a world title in his fifth weight class, there will be few words to say in the main event at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on Saturday evening, March 16, 2019.
With more than three of every four opponents knocked out, Garcia will be looking for another knockout in the middle and later rounds against 24-0 International Boxing Federation World Welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. Garcia has six years more ring experience and ring generalship over Spence. However, has no experience in the 147 pound division. Garcia does not, having been champion in the four divisions below welterweight.
With power, speed, superior confidence, and a mix of masterful game plan, Garcia plans to outbox Spence. A decision in this bout could be very drawish over 12 rounds if it comes to that. 15 bouts will precede the main event, including five scheduled 10 rounders. Ringstar Sports and TGB Promotions will present the televised card live on USA Fox Pay-Per-View and Panama Telemetro Channel 13 at 9 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, 6 P.M. Pacific Time.
Speed, stamina, timing, game plan and agility will determine the winner. No doubt about it, this bout is a fan thriller, the best since Sugar Ray Leonard versus Thomas Hearns. Whoever wins, knockdowns are guaranteed. It will be action-packed, and it could be bloody. Garcia versus Spence, for up to 47 minutes this weekend, for sure will be real.
