UFC 25TH ANNIVERSARY PRESS CONFERENCE
NATE DIAZ RETURNS & MANY BIG FIGHTS ANNOUNCED
By MMAFighting.com
Los Angeles, CA (August 4th. 2018)– Nate Diaz was a late comer to Friday’s press conference in Los Angeles, and once he did arrive, he was a man of few words.
Asked about his Nov. 3 meeting against Dustin Poirier at UFC 230 and why he decided to finally return after a two-year absence from the sport, Diaz was blunt.
“It’s time to go, so it’s time to go,” he said.
He added later, “This is a championship fight right here.
“Since my last fight, I’ve been in a lawsuit, so I wasn’t eligible to fight. I don’t know why nobody told you guys that.”
And that was it from Diaz, the lightweight star whose two fights with Conor McGregor set records for the highest-selling MMA pay-per-views of all-time.
But just minutes after the UFC ended Friday’s press conference with a surprise announcement that McGregor is finally returning from his own two-year layoff to challenge UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov for a blockbuster showdown on Oct. 6 at UFC 229, Diaz offered one more comment.
The Stockton native took aim at UFC with an ominous tweet that showed he was less than pleased with how things went down.

Diaz also walked out of the press conference midway through the UFC’s promo for Nurmagomedov vs. McGregor.
What do you make of his reaction?
