Wow! Joey Dawejko vs. Bryant Jennings Heavyweight Fight is Sure to End in a Knockout!

By Robert Brizel, Head Real Combat Media Boxing Correspondent

Philadelphia, PA (March 27th, 2018)–  Peltz Boxing Promotions and Top Rank will present an eight-bout card of boxing on ESPN on Tuesday, April 28, 2018. The main event scheduled is a 12 round WBO World Super Bantamweight title bout between 25-0 Jessie Magdaleno and 18-0 Isaac Dogboe.

Of greater interest, though, is promoter Russell Peltz’ gem on the undercard, a 10 rounder all-Philadelphia war between former top-rated heavyweight contender Bryant Jennings. 22-2 with 13 knockouts, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and first-round knockout artist Dawejko, 19-4-4 with 11 knockouts, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Jennings is still recovering from his losses to Wladimir Klitschko and Luis Ortiz in 2015, and has recorded three recent wins over inferior opposition on the comeback trail. Dawejko, since losing to Amir Mansour in Philadelphia in 2015, is unbeaten in his last seven bouts on the comeback trail. Two of those bouts, though, were draws to game opponents who were shrewdly defensive, and not drawn into a slugfest with the short but powerful Dawejko.

Jennings is smarter than Amir Mansour, who beat Dawejko. To win, Jennings will have to outbox Dawejko, while being aware Dawejko can knock out an opponent out at any time. Jennings cannot stand too close with Dawejko, or he will get taken out. Jennings must fight an Evander Holyfield technical style fight, outworking the stronger fighter while using his jab range expertly. Dawejko can take Jennings out with one shot, if Jennings gets careless.

If one fighter were to be stopped, it would be Jennings stopping Dawejko, but Jennings will have to fight this bout too hard for that to occur. Dawejko versus Jennings will end in a knockout between rounds eight and ten. Who knocks down and knocks out who remains to be seen. It could very well be either fighter. Both fighters are at an offensive crossroads, and with caution thrown to the win, with these two hungry fighters, someone is sure to go.
