20-0 German Heavyweight Tom Schwarz, International Prospect of the Month

By Robert Brizel, Head Real Combat Media Boxing Correspondent

World Boxing Organization Youth World Heavyweight champion and German BDB Heavyweight champion Tom Schwarz is the international prospect of the month. Schwarz, now 20-0 with 13 knockouts, Magdeburg, Germany, added the German belt to his WBO belt with a fourth-round stoppage of Samir Nebo at Erdgas Arena at Halle an der Saale.

Schwarz turned pro five years ago with a first-round knockout of Mario Schmidt in June 2013 in Germany. Since that time, his record includes wins over four unbeaten fighters with a combined record of 26-0. A fine technical fighter, Schwarz has also recorded decision wins of four, six, eight and 10 rounds duration, including an eight round decision win over tough Germany 53 bout veteran Konstantin Airich.

The heavyweight division, with Deontay Wilder versus Luis Ortiz, and Anthony Joshua versus Joseph Parker coming up, and the returns of David Haye and Tyson Fury anticipated, is always wide open for young, new and explosive talent. While Schwarz is a top 30 rising heavyweight, he remains untested, and is due for a step up bout against a world-class heavyweight fighter on the next level in the near future.
