THE JUDGE ADELAIDE BYRD WHO SCORED 118-110 FOR CANELO IS SUSPENDED BY – NSAC.

Las Vegas, NV (September 18th, 2017)– Nevada resident official, Adelaide Byrd, has been temporarily stood down from main events after causing controversy with her scorecard on one of the biggest fights of the year #CaneloGGG. And now she is under investigation by the NSAC.

Who is Adelaide Byrd?

Byrd is an American judge who has been an official since 1997. Here is her judging record over her 20 year career. Adalaide Byrd Judging Record

Over her 20-year career she has been ringside in a series of big fights throughout America, and is often used by Golden Boy Promotions.

“I’m not going to put her right back in,” Bob Bennett, the Nevada Athletic Commission executive director, said, via the Los Angeles Times.

“She’ll still be in the business … but she needs to catch her breath.”

Byrd has a history of controversial scoring and the GGG-Canelo bout may have been the last straw.

“Like in any profession, you have a bad night,” Bennett said.

“Unfortunately, she didn’t do well. I can tell you she conducts training for us, takes judges under her wing … but her score was too wide.”

Bob Bennett, the executive director of the Nevada Athletic Commission, was forced to field questions over Byrd’s future in the aftermath and said: “I’m not going to put her right back in. She’ll still be in the business, but she needs to catch her breath.”
