Undefeated Regis “Rougarou” Prograis Returns June 9th on ShoBox
Verona, NY (May 11th, 2017)– Top junior welterweight Regis “Rougarou” Prograis (19-0, 16KOs) will get the biggest fight of his career on June 9th in Verona, New York at the Turning Stone Casino and Resort as he takes on heralded prospect Joel Diaz Jr. (23-0 19KOs) in what could be the fight of the year on paper.
The fight which is the television main event of Showtime’s acclaimed “ShoBox: The New Generation” seemingly will put the winner of this fight in the conversation for a world title.
Prograis has appeared on “ShoBox: The New Generation” three times with his last two outings consisting of a first round stoppage of Alan Herrera (32-6-1 21KOs) and a eighth round stoppage of Abel Ramos (17-2-2 12KOs). Since his last outing against Herrera, Prograis has fought on the undercard of Keith Thurman vs. Shawn Porter as well as fighting at the Hard Rock Casino in Mississippi.
Prograis though is now excited to have a game opponent who is willing to push him.
“I feel I haven’t been able to show everyone everything I am capable of, I have shown bits and pieces, but I haven’t had a fight in which I put it all together.”
Prograis, who is fighting the weekend of the boxing hall of fame, is looking to take the boxing world by storm. Prograis is currently ranked #4 by the WBC.
