MARTIN MURRAY DECISIONS GABE ROSADO IN THE UK
Liverpool, UK (April 23rd, 2017) — Martin Murray pulled out a home field win over Gabriel Rosado today, beating Rosado by majority decision, after which Rosado lost his cool and nearly came to blows with Murray again.
Murray (35-4-1, 16 KO) won on scores of 116-112 and a very wide 119-109, with the third card even, at 114-114. The 34-year-old Murray won a minor WBA middleweight title in the process, returning to the division after a stint at super middleweight.
Rosado falls to 23-11 (13 KO), losing his second straight, and the fifth of his last seven fights. At 31, he’s still fairly young, but it’s been a tough run for the Philadelphia native.
For whatever it’s worth, the WBA middleweight championship is held by Gennady Golovkin, while Hassan N’dam holds the interim title. Golovkin has already beaten Murray, dominating him to an 11th round stoppage in 2015.
