Knockouts on Ave! Eddie Jaafar Presents K9 Bundrage 14 Bout Ford Center Spectacular

By Robert Brizel, Head Real Combat Media Boxing Correspondent

Dearborn, Michigan (January 2nd, 2016)– Promoter Eddie Jaafar and Eddie Jaafar Boxing Promotion will present a spectacular action packed 14 bout card entitled ‘Knockouts on the Ave’ at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center in Dearborn, Michigan, on Saturday evening, January 7, 2016, which will feature former International Boxing Federation World Super Welterweight champion Cornelius ‘K9’ Bundrage in the main event. Four bouts of six rounds duration, and 10 bouts of four rounds, are scheduled. Popular Detroit Light heavyweight sensation James ‘Equalizer’ Ballard is also featured. Female amateur champion Alycia Buamgardner will debut.

Bundrage, 34-6 with 19 knockouts, Detroit, Michigan, a 22 year ring veteran of six world title fights at 154 pounds, will look to score his twentieth career knockout against 15 year ring veteran Walter Sergio Gomez, 24-10-1 with 10 knockouts, Cafayate, Salta, Argentina. Gomez scored a fourth round knockout victory in his last ring appearance against Ceferino Zampatti. Gomez is a former Salta State and WBC Youth Mundo Hispano champion.

Bundrage, inactive since fighting Jermall Charlo for his IBF World Super Welterweight title in September 2015,  is predicted to win by fourth or fifth round stoppage, the prediction based on Bundrage needing to get a few rounds in to get the ring rust out.

Undefeated 7-0 Detroit light heavyweight prospect sensation James ‘Equalizer’ Ballard will fight veteran Robert Guerra of Holland, Michigan. Ballard is predicted to win by sixth round knockout or stoppage. Ballard went six rounds and won in his last bout. Guerra has never been past five, the key difference when dealing with rising prospect Ballard, who is a fight class or two above the rest.

Dmitriy Salita’s Kazakhstan welterweight fighter Bakhtiyar Ayubov, 11-0 with 10 knockouts, Aktjubinsk, Kazakhstan, is predicted to win by fourth round stoppage over Nicaraguan fighter Elvin Perez, 28-16-4 with 19 knockouts, fighting out of Pahokee, Florida. The scheduled six rounder will be a wild rough tough affair while it lasts.

3-0 rising Detroit middleweight prospect Antonio ‘The Man’ Wade will fight a six bout against veteran Cesar Ruiz of Nacozari, Sonora, Mexico. Wade is predicted to win by second or third round knockout. Wade is the next GGG, and it is only a matter of time, perhaps a year or two, before Wade makes his statement on the 160 pound division.

Irish fight fans will not want to miss 3-0 Irish cruiserweight and heavyweight Taylor Grey ‘Machine Gun’ Guerr of Owosso, Michigan, is predicted to win by four round heavyweight bout by second round knockout over veteran Anthony Coleman Jr. of Ferndale, Michigan.

3-0 Toledo, Ohio Joe Quiambo heavyweight prospect Cassius Anderson is predicted to win by third or fourth round stoppage over Brandon Maske of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Rocky Balboa will not help in this bout. Rising 19 year old East Pointe, Michigan lightweight weight prospect Caleb Chestnut, 1-0, is predicted to win by second round stoppage over Christopher ‘Rocky’ Kuhn of Charleston, West Virginia.

In a female lightweight bout, former Ohio female amateur champion Alycia Baumgardner of Fremont, Ohio, is predicted to win her professional debut by four round stoppage or decision over veteran Ashley Jamillah King of Atlanta, Georgia. Baumgardner has 15 years of amateur experience at age 22. Her debut could end a round or two earlier, depending on how fast Baumgardner settles down after the opening round.

Dearborn super middleweight Sinan Fradi, whose pro debut in October 2016 ended in a No Contest, is predicted to win by first or second round stoppage over veteran Dean Walsh Jr. of Monroe, Michigan. Fradi is a wild punching power shot machine, inaccurate at times but with monster power when he lands. It won’t be long before the limited Walsh will get caught in the crossfire in heated exchanges standing in front of Fradi and get blown away.

Debuting Detroit welterweight Cortez Chambliss of Detroit, Michigan, is predicted to win by second round stoppage or knockout over veteran Keith Bullock of Shelby Township, Michigan.

Former Michigan State amateur champion Anthony ‘A.J.’ Flagg, 1-0, is predicted to win by third round stoppage over South Carolina veteran Therran Smalls.

1-0  In addition, Canadian super middleweight Wasseem El Sinami of Windsor, Ontario,

2-0  and 18 year old 5-0 David McWater welterweight Janelson Figueroa Bocachica are

3-0  both scheduled to appear against opponents to be named.
