TYSON FURY VS. WLADIMIR KLITSCHKO OFF AGAIN
(AP) London, UK (September 23,2016)– Tyson Fury’s world heavyweight title rematch with Wladimir Klitschko has been postponed again.
Fury pulled out of the original July 9 date with an ankle injury and it is understood he has suffered another setback in training and will not be ready for October 29 at Manchester Arena.
No-one from Fury’s camp has been available for comment, but it is believed they contacted Klitschko’s team this morning to tell them the fight would have to be put back again.
No new date has been suggested and Fury’s reign as WBA Super and WBO champion is descending into farce.
He is already the subject of a UK Anti-Doping probe after allegedly failing a drugs test and now he has pulled out of his rematch with Klitschko for a second time.
Fury won the titles from Klitschko in November and now runs the risk of being stripped of his two belts.
He already lost the IBF belt within weeks of winning the title back in December when he refused to face their mandatory challenger.
The next big date in his career is likely to be in front of UK Anti-Doping when he answers his drugs charge and his hearing had been scheduled to take place after October 29.
