Frampton Will Beat Santa Cruz, Bracero Will Beat Malignaggi, Here’s Why

By Robert Brizel, Head Real Combat Media Boxing Correspondent

Brooklyn, NY (July 30th, 2016)-– Carl ‘The Jackal’ Frampton of Belfast, Northern Ireland, has reached 22-0, with 14 knockouts. Frampton is leaving his IBF and WBA World Bantamweight titles behind, and is moving up in weight to challenge for the World Boxing Association Super World Featherweight title tonight against 32-0-1 champion Leo ‘El Terremoto’ Santa Cruz, a Mexican fighting out of Rosemead, California, televised on USA Showtime, brought to you by DiBella Entertainment and sponsor Corona Extra.

Sparks should fly in this spectacular super fight main event. Despite going up in weight, Frampton is very strong, and will stop Santa Cruz within 11 rounds. Santa Cruz has 18 knockouts during his career. However, Frampton is a whole different quality level of opponent. It will be an exciting USA Showtime main event at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, and it will be perhaps the best and most exciting bout ever fought at Barclays.

23-1 Detroit junior middleweight Tony Harrison is favored to win by 12 round decision over 27-1 Sergey Rabchencko of Belarus. Harrison has 19 knockouts, Rabchenko has 20 knockouts. Harrison is the harder hitter, and more effective technical fighter at 154 pounds, and has had the more effective training camp.

Popular welterweight Gabriel’ Tito’ Bracero, 24-2, is favored to win by ten round decision over 35-7 Paulie ‘Magic Man’ Malignaggi in an all-Brooklyn battle which sells tickets. Both men are 35 years old. Bracero has noted trainer Tommy Gallagher in his corner, and the training camp work put in gives Bracero the edge, though with Paulie, you never know. For some reason, this reporter feels Malignaggi would have the slight edge if this bout were 12 rounds instead, given his range of experience. Paulie is a better commentator than fighter at this point. Hard work will tell the story in this bout, and who wants it a little bit more.

Other Predictions

Philadelphia featherweight Tevin Farmer, 21-4-1 Win 10 over 19-1-1 Ivan Redkach, a Ukrainian now hailing from Los Angeles, California, in a battle of southpaws.

24-0 Mikey Garcia KO 5 Elio Rojas, super lightweights. Garcia is a power hitter. Dominican ex-world champion Rojas is a featherweight, and in addition to being in the wrong weight class, neither he nor Rocky Martinez are the same fighters as they were when their trainers included Muay Thai and boxing trainer Daniel ‘Pa EnCima’ Guerrido. Neither is performing up to the same levels they were when Guerrido was in their corner.

Amanda Serrano, 28-1-1, Brooklyn, New York KO 4 Calixta Delgado, 14-6-3, Columbia, WBO World Featherweight title. Southpaw Serrano won’t take long. Two minute rounds.

South Korean super lightweight Min Wook Kim Win 8 Louis Cruz, 11-1-1, Bronx, New York. Kim, a winner of 15 in a row, is intense and hungry, Cruz falls short of the mark.

British middleweight Conrad ‘Dynamite’ Cummings, 9-0-1, Win 8 Dante Moore, 9-1-2, Cleveland, Ohio. This bout admittedly is a tossup. Cummings is, however, a better boxer.

7-0 California featherweight Jose ‘El Gallo’ Gomez Win 6 over 6-3-3 Josh Crespo of New Haven, Connecticut. El Gallo is most definitely a talented technical fighter on the way up.

5-0 Scottish welterweight Josh ‘The Tartan Tornado’ Taylor is favored by a result of TKO 5 or Win 6 over area journeyman Evincii Dixon, 7-14-1, Lancaster, Pennsylvania. A tune up bout, though Edinburgh’s Taylor should be fighting in his regular 140 pound class.
