Las Vegas, NV (June 4th, 2016)– After back and forth negotiations and the UFC 200 fallout, the Nate Diaz vs Conor McGregor is finally official.
The UFC announced the match-up during the pay-per-view broadcast for UFC 199. The event will take place Aug. 20 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The main card will air on pay-per-view.

Diaz (19-10 MMA, 14-8 UFC) stepped up to face McGregor (19-3 MMA, 7-1 UFC) on short notice at UFC 196, stepping in for injured lightweight champ Rafael dos Anjos. The bout took place at welterweight, but McGregor remained a solid favorite as the men made their way to the cage. Diaz survived a rocky first round to stun McGregor on the feet before taking the fight to the floor and finishing with a second-round rear-naked choke.
The two were then set to rematch at UFC 200, but a dispute between McGregor and the UFC over fight promotion led to the bout being cancelled amid tweets from the featherweight champ suggesting retirement.
After a rocky PR war, the sides have smoothed everything out and the rematch is finally set.
