ROBBIE LAWLER WILL FIGHT TYRON WOODLEY FOR THE WELTERWEIGHT TITLE AT UFC 201
Las Vegas, NV (May 17th, 2016)– (UFC) welterweight champion Robbie Lawler will return to the Octagon to defend his title against top 170-pound contender Tyron Woodley in the UFC 201 pay-per-view (PPV) headliner on July 30, 2016 at Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
Lawler (27-10, 1 NC) hasn’t been seen since a controversial split decision win over Carlos Condit at UFC 195 back in January, his second straight title defense since capturing the crown from Johny Hendricks in late 2014. Woodley (15-3), meanwhile, earned his spot in line with consecutive wins over Dong Hyun Kim and Kelvin Gastelum.
