Las Vegas, NV (May 30th, 2016)– On Sunday night, Floyd Mayweather’s social media team released this amateur fight poster above hinting the boxing match with Conor McGregor will be made soon on Showtime PPV.
In the recent weeks there has been strong speculation from both camps that they were both interested in making a boxing fight with Mayweather and McGregor, who is the current UFC 145lb champion.
Floyd has recently told Showtime CBS that the Conor McGregor fight is his priority if he decides to return for a record breaking 50th fight.
Colin Cowherd who runs a popular podcast on Fox Sports also said he booked his hotel for September 17th in Las Vegas and said his intel said the fight will happen. However, Conor McGregor is under UFC contract and he is in the middle of a negotiation with Nate Diaz to avenge his only UFC loss that happened UFC 196. The rematch is expected to take place August 20th at UFC 202. Right now Nate Diaz is asking for more money to do the rematch.
At this time, the UFC has not made any official announcement of existing negotiations of a boxing match between McGregor and Mayweather.
