Matchmaker Nichole Castillo Interview: MMA Brawl at Erie Bayfront Convention Center

Pennsylvania MMA and boxing promoter Ernie Bizzarro of Bizzarro’s Boxing & MMA Promotions, and Ohio matchmaker Nichole Castillo present Bayfront Brawl Cage Fighting at Erie, Pennsylvania Bayfront Convention Center, on Saturday evening, May 7, 2016, from 7 P.M. to 11 P.M., with an exciting Mixed Martial Arts card of 14 amateur and professional bouts. A Pennsylvania amateur title bout will be featured on the card.

Robert Brizel: “When is the date for the Bayfront Brawl Cage Fighting Event in Erie?”

 

Nichole Castillo: “May 7, 2016, at Bayfront Convention Center, in Erie, Pennsylvania.”

 

Robert Brizel: “Is this the first MMA show there (in Erie, Pennsylvania) of its kind?”

 

Nichole Castillo: “That I know of.”

 

Robert Brizel: “Why Erie?”

 

Nichole Castillo: “Promoter Ernie Bizzarro wants to do this. It’s the first time Erie Pennsylvania is going to have an MMA show in many years. He also does boxing shows here. It’s his first time getting involved with MMA (doing an MMA show) in general.”

 

Robert Brizel: “Will there be both amateur and professional fights?”

 

Nichole Castillo: “Yes. There will be both professional and amateur fights. We have 14 fights scheduled.”

 

Robert Brizel: “Will there be any female MMA fights on the card?”

 

Nicole Castillo: “Yes. It is a 160 pound amateur bout. This will be the first time a 40 year old female amateur will debut, the oldest female MAM debut in Pennsylvania history. Her name is Sherri Robinson. She trains for a team called Free Elements out of Erie, Pennsylvania. She will fighting Gina Pallarico, a 38 year old from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Pallarico has two previous MMA fights.”

 

Robert Brizel: “How many pro MMA fights will there be on the Erie card?”

 

Nichole Castillo: “After the amateur portion of the card is completed, there will be two pro bouts at three rounds, five minutes each. In the main event, Brandon Seiler from Erie, Pennsylvania, also team Free Elements, 130 pounds, 6-3-1, against Joe Pegg, 6-3, from Batavia, Ohio. In the preliminary bout to the main event, Damonte Robinson, 155 pounds, from Mayanz MMA, Canton, Ohio, making his professional debut after going 5-0 as an amateur, will fight Mike Wiseman, 1-2, from Campbell, Ohio, team CMA.”

 

Robert Brizel: “Tell me about the amateur title bout on the card.”

 

Nichole Castillo: “It is for the Pennsylvania Amateur 155 Pound Lightweight title. It features Dustin Mohedano, team Mayanz MMA, from Massillon, Ohio, versus Anthony Romero, Ontario, Canada, Team Ascension, three rounds, at three minutes each.”

 

Robert Brizel: “Tell me about the start time and ticket sales.”

 

Nicole Castillo: “The doors will be open at 6 P.M at Bayfront Convention Center in Erie, Pennsylvania, May 7, 2016, Saturday evening, with the first amateur bout at 7 P.M.”
