CONOR MCGREGOR SETTLES DISPUTE AND IS BACK ON AT UFC 200
New York, NY (April 25th, 2016)–After a week long battle with the UFC over press commitments and promotion, Conor McGregor is back on the UFC 200 against Nate Diaz in July.
“It’s part of the job, it’s what we do here,” White said. “We gave Conor every opportunity to be here, too. We get criticized for bending too much for Conor and we do. Conor’s a guy who has stepped up and fought big fights on short notice and I respect Conor very much as a fighter. You have to show up and do this stuff.”
McGregor took to Twitter late Sunday night to announce the news while praising both UFC president Dana White and co-owner Lorenzo Fertitta for helping to settle the dispute to get him back on UFC 200. UFC 200 is expected to be the most popular UFC event of all time. As of now, the July 2009 UFC 100 event is still the most watched UFC event in history.
UFC officials have made no comment on the matter or confirmed the news. Last week Conor announced his retirement on Twitter and had a rough week going and forth with Dana White about why he felt he should not do some of the press obligations.
Conor McGregor retirement Tweet was one of the most popular tweet in UFC history and even provided more publicity for UFC 200.
The UFC’s next press conference is scheduled for April 27 in New York with many of the stars from UFC 200 set to attend.

Dana White told the LA Times on Monday in a text that no deal has been reached with Conor McGregor and he is not sure why he made the Tweet.
