Manchester, UK, (17th of January 2016)– David Haye has reemerged in empathetic fashion last night destroying Mark De Mori in the last minute in the first round. Haye set a ferocious and aggressive pace from the outset. His body language seemed intent on destruction whereas Mark seemed content to just survive. Haye pushed De Mori back from the beginning with his Jab he secured the center of the ring and muscled him towards the rope. Haye seemed to want to aggressively press and counter-punch De Mori, however Mark seemed too gun-shy and tentative to let his hands go. Haye kept stalking and landing shots from different angles, he seemed too target the mid-section specifically. Eventually in the last minute De Mori had his back against the ropes, and he threw a lazy jab that Haye countered with an overhand right which started a combo. And he ended the combination with a barrage of hayemakers, and knocked Mark out in the 55th second of the first round. And the Referee stopped the fight in the 48th second of the first round.
Now a question arises, where does David Haye go from here. I believe he should take another tune-up fight against much tougher competition. The Mark De Mori fight answered no questions, because Mark was clearly shell-shocked by Haye’s power. A fight with Artur Spilka who Deontay Wilder knocked out in the 9th round of their fight would be interesting. A fight with David Haye and Spilka can be used as a barometer to measure a comparison between Haye and Wilder. Another great fight for Haye would be Haye against Dillion Whyte, which could be an awesome fight and can be used to compare Haye’s performance with Anthony Joshua performance against Whyte. Haye stated post-fight that he wants to fight Anthony Joshua. I see that being a great fight in the future however for his next fight I think he should fight an opponent who would take him the distance and not just look to survive. But we shall soon see who Haye fight next.
