GROSVENOR CASINOS BACK BIRMINGHAM AND SHEFFIELD SHOWS
Matchroom Boxing are delighted to announce that a two-fight deal has been signed with Grosvenor Casinos as chief sponsor of our upcoming shows in Birmingham on October 17 and Sheffield on October 24 – which will be screened live on Sky Sports.
Earlier in the year Grosvenor Casinos backed two huge fights including the World title double-header featuring Scott Quigg and Anthony Crolla in May and the highly anticipated fight in September in Leeds where Josh Warrington met Joel Brunker in front of his passionate fans.
Sam Eggington tops a great bill in Birmingham at the Barclaycard Arena as he defends his British and Commonwealth Welterweight titles against Dale Evans – who is responsible for one of the two defeats Eggington has on his CV – as former World Middleweight title challenger Matthew Macklin moves down to Super Welterweight to take on Jason Welborn for the vacant WBC International title.
Unbeaten Super Flyweight star, Kal Yafai, faces Jason Cunningham for the vacant British title and Kal’s unbeaten younger brother, Gamal, faces the most important fight of his blossoming career in a final eliminator for the Commonwealth Super Bantamweight title against Nasibu Ramadhani.
The Midlands Area title is on the line between Middleweights Craig Cunningham and Lennox Clarke and Welterweights Rob Hunt and Karl Wiggins, and unbeaten local talents Cori Gibbs, Zach Parker, Dan Breeze, Michael Rooney and Jordan Cooke all taste action.
The following week, the Sheffield’s Kell Brook defends his IBF World Welterweight title for the third time against dangerous Argentine Diego Chaves at the Sheffield Arena – with a stacked card featuring the Sky Sports debut of Chris Eubank Jr against American Tony Jeter and unbeaten Doncaster ace Gavin McDonnell defends his Super Bantamweight strap for the first time against Jeremy Parodi.
