Salita Promotions Presents Boxing at the Beach MCU Park Coney Island

Brooklyn, NY (August 14th, 2015)–Dmitriy Salita’s Star of David Promotions will present an exciting card of pro boxing at Brooklyn Cyclones baseball outdoor MCU Park entitled Brooklyn Brawl Boxing at the Beach, on Tuesday evening, August 25, 2015. Seven bouts will be featured, with junior lightweights Alexander Miskirtchian and Cornelius Lock fighting in the ten round main event.
Miskirtchian, 25-3-1 with nine knockouts, Diant, Belgium, is a former European Featherweight champion who has moved up to lightweight after losing a 12 round decision to Evgeny Gradovich for the IBF World Featherweight title in Macao in June of 2014. Miskirtchian won his first lightweight bout, an eight round decision over Michael Escobar, in Belgium in March of 2015.
Lock, 22-7-2 with 14 knockouts, Detroit, Michigan, is a southpaw featherweight who has been unable to win the big fight, thought he did score a win over onetime contender Rogers Mtagwa by fourth round stoppage last year at Dover Downs Casino in Delaware. Lock will be fighting at the 135 pound lightweight limit for the first time against Miskirtchaian. In this bout, Miskirtchian is favored by last round stoppage or ten round unanimous decision.
In an eight round preliminary to the main event, Dinmukhamed ‘Dimash’ Niyazov, a 7-0-3 Kazakhstan lightweight prospect now living on Staten Island, will face hot and cold Queens lightweight Ariel Duran, 8-7 with five knockouts. Niyazov if favored by decision or late round TKO in a close bout.
Three six round bouts will highlight the middle of the card. Chicago area cruiserweight Junior Anthony Wright, a former Golden Gloves champion, 13-1-1, 11 knockouts, coming off an IBO world title bout with Rakhim Chakhkiev in Moscow, Russia, with fight dangerous journeyman Harvey Jolly, 14-22-1, Nashville, Tennessee. Jolly has a powerful right uppercut, and he has used in to score upsets over fighters with winning records, including Tyrone Smith, Otis Mills, Villi Bloomfield, Mike Malotke, Mike Gegen, Evans Quinn, Nicholas Ianuzzi, Umberto Savigne, Brian Howard and Andres Taylor. 22 of Jolly’s opponents were unbeaten when he fought them. Wright is favored to win by decision.
In a battle between southpaws, 6-1 junior welterweight prospect Treysean Wiggins of Newburgh, New York, will face faded 20-7-1 former contender Francisco ‘Frankie’ Figueroa of Bronx, Mew York. After scoring an upset eight round split decision over Emmanuel Augustus, Figueroa has not won since 2008. Figueroa’s drawback is at 5’6” he is too short. Wiggins will knock out Figueroa or stop him in the later rounds. 7-0 Kazakhstan super welterweight prospect Bakhtiyar Eyubov is favored to win in a six round bout over Cory Vom Baur, a 2-3 fighter from Spokane, Washington.
Also scheduled to appear on Salita’s card in four round bouts are: 1-0 welterweight prospect Giorgi Gelashvili of Brooklyn, favored over DeLoren Grey-Jordon, an 0-1 fighter from Ohio; and 6-0 super lightweight prospect Gary Beriguette of Brooklyn is favored over 1-4 Anton Williamson of New Rochelle, New York.
Brooklyn Cyclones Stadium doors open on Tuesday evening, August 25, 2015, at 6 P.M., with the first bout starting at 7 P.M.
