Heavyweight Contender Denis Boytsov in Coma
Berlin, Germany (May 12, 2015)– Former WBO #1 rated heavyweight Denis Boytsov (36-1, 27 KOs) has been seriously injured in a non-boxing incident. According to the Berliner Kurrier, the 29-year-old Boytsov is now in an induced coma in a Berlin hospital. He was found in a subway tunnel between stations with serious head injuries and a hand injury. Police are not commenting on the incident. “Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family,” said his promoter Sauerland Event in a statement.
