POLICE ISSUE A FELONY WARRANT FOR JON JONES
Albuquerque, NM (April 27th, 2015)– According to Tweets by MMAFighting.com’s, Ariel Helwani, Albuquerque police will be issuing a felony warrant for leaving the scene of an accident for Jon Jones. A pregnant woman broke her arm in the accident. Fortunately the woman did not lose the pregnancy.
Marijuana was found in the vehicle with a pipe. However at this time the drug charge has not yet been filed. The original report stated that a rental car that was allegedly used by Jon Jones.
Jones is scheduled to defend his UFC title against Anthony Johnson at UFC 187 on May 23 in Las Vegas. No decision on cancelling this fight has been made at this time.
Jones failed a drug test for cocaine on December 4, 2014 but was not suspended due to the test being administered out of competition 3 weeks before his fight with Daniel Cormier, when cocaine is not banned for out of competition use by WADA.
In 2012 Jones pled guilty to DWI after driving his Bentley into a telephone pole in upstate New York.
