Checkmate Cindy Serrano Featured on International Fight Night March 28 in Queens

Brooklyn, NY (March 24th, 2015)– World ranked female super lightweight Cindy ‘Checkmate’ Serrano will be a feature bout on a 13 bout card at Resorts Casino Aqueduct Raceway promoted by New Legend Boxing. Serrano, now 22-5, 10 knockouts, Brooklyn, New York by way of Puerto Rico, will face Fatuma Zarika, 24-9, 14 knockouts, Nairobi, Kenya, in a six rounder,who is moving up from super featherweight to fight Serrano. Cindy Serrano is favored by six round decision.
In the two main event bouts, super bantamweight Antonio Nieves, 10-0, five knockouts, Cleveland, Ohio, is favored to win by eight round decision or late round stoppage over Saul Tejada, 5-3-2, one knockout, Leon, Spain. Tejada will be making his first appearance outside of Europe, and it will be the first eight rounder for both combatants. In the other eight rounder, Scott ‘Bang Bang’ Burrell, 9-2, six knockouts, of Brooklyn will appear.
Dominican Ariel Duran and Raphael Luna of Albany, New York, are scheduled to fight a six round lightweight bout. Super lightweights Ivan Maranchyk, Dimash Niyazov, Julian Sosa, and Wellington Romero, welterweight Frank Castillo, cruiserweight David Sparks, and light heavyweight Joseph Williams, are among those fighters scheduled to fight on the area undercard in four and six rounders.
