By Robert Brizel, Head Real Combat Media Boxing Correspondent
Allentown, PA (February 19th, 2015)– Marshall Kauffman’s King’s Promotions and Big Stuff Promotions will present an exciting nine bout card of boxing at the Econo Lodge Conference Center in Allentown, Pennsylvania, on Saturday evening, February 21, 2015, featuring super featherweight contender Frank Santos de Alba in his second title defense of the Universal Boxing Federation All America Super Featherweight title.
De Alba, 14-1, five knockouts, Reading, Pennsylvania, will defend his UBF regional title in the main event in an eight rounder against Jose Bustos, 7-2-3, four knockouts, Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. De Alba is favored to win by decision. Bustos is coming off a ten round split decision win over Hector Mendoza in Ciudad Juarez in April 2014. The main event promising to be a significant challenge war for De Alba, who will wind up taking Bustos into the later rounds as he eventually breaks him down and stops him. De Alba knocked down Jesse Carradine and retained his UBF belt by eight round decision in October 2014.
In a preliminary eight round bout preceding the main event, DiBella Entertainment prospect Juan ‘Baby Tito’ Dominguez, 14-0, A Dominican from Brooklyn, New York, is favored to win by decision or late round stoppage in an eight rounder against Carlos Rodriguez, 19-16-4, 11 knockouts, Sinaloa, Mexico. Rodriguez is coming off a second round knockout over Kevin Lopez in Sinaloa this past November. When one adds the professional record of Dominguez to four other opponents recently fought by Rodriguez, Miguel Gonzalez, Jessie Magdeleno, Julian Ramirez and Joseph Diaz, their combined records are 64-1, indicating Rodriguez has fought the best opponents around. This will be the fortieth professional bout for Rodriguez, who has gone six rounds or more 26 times, including 10 rounds and 12 rounds. Rodriguez will try to win, and should prove a significant step up test for Dominguez.
Preliminary six round bouts will feature rising 8-0 super middleweight prospect John Magda against Jay WIlliams, 6-1-1 heavyweight prospect Danny Kelly against Kevin Franklin, and 5-0 super welterweight prospect Ivan Golub against David Lopez. Preliminary four round bouts will feature 2-0-1 featherweight prospect Roberto Irizarry, 3-0 super featherweight prospect Christian Molina against debuting Stacey Anderson, 2-0 heavyweight Paul Koon against Rex Harris, and debuting super middleweight Christian Booker against Andrew Sosa.
