Lateef Kayode Loses WBA Heavyweight Title Bout to Luis Ortiz in First Round

On September 11, 2014, long over hyped cruiserweight Lateef Kayode, fighting his third bout in the wrong weight division at heavyweight, got decked in the first round by southpaw Cuban defector Luis Ortiz. Kayode beat the count, but when Ortiz landed 15 unanswered punches with evil intent on Kayode, forcing an end to the contesting the first round. Ortiz won the interim World Boxing Association World Heavyweight title at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ortiz goes to 22-0 with 16 knockouts. Kayode, a Nigerian living in California, falls to 20-1 with 16 knockouts. Wile E. Coyote did not catch the roadrunner. Then again, he never does. Beep Beep.
