Las Vegas, NV (September 24, 2014)– UFC stars, Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier were both punished yesterday in their August press conference brawl. Jones was fined $50,000 and has to complete 40 hours of community service. Daniel Cormier was fined $9000 for his part in the brawl. The two fighters are expected to meet in the octagon at UFC 182 on January 3, 2015.
“I’ve lost a very big endorsement of mine, one of my biggest,” Jones said. “My Nike deal.”
40 hours of community service in Vegas with a fight coming up is the only thing that really concerns me.The fact that this needs to be completed before the fight is definitely going to have effect on my camp. I respect the commission though
“For me, I value different things,” Cormier said. “I get happy when I win a fight, I enjoy winning, I enjoy getting paid, but I’m happy when I see my son take his first wrestling class and do well or these other kids win a state championship and their parents crying, that’s value to me. I lost my best kid. I had a kid that was an All-American and a two-time state champion and they walked away.
