During the traditional “Tuesday Coffee” via Conference call, the WBC lightweight world champion, Omar Figueroa, who’s just TKO’d Mexican, Daniel Estrada, confirmed he’ll vacate the title to climb up into the super lightweight division.

Figueroa confirms this decision was made with a view to his physical integrity acknowledging that his body can no longer adhere to the strictures of the lightweight division.

Happy with his victorious performance in Carson City California, the undefeated fighter will attempt to face the best super lightweight fighters, preparing to challenge WBC champion Danny Garcia.

He also confirmed that he’ll continue training with the same team and that after a short break, he’ll be right back in the gym.
