Bruce Binkow joins TMT Promotions as a consultant
According to Dan Rafael of ESPN.COM, former Golden Boy Promotions chief operating officer, Bruce Binkow has signed on as a consultant to TMT Promotions. CEO Richard Schaefer resigned from Golden Boy a few weeks ago. Binkow, worked closely with Schaefer during his tenure. Binkow is the first of former Golden Boy employees to find work elsewhere.
Oscar De La Hoya the president of Golden Boy currently has filed a 50 million dollar lawsuit for damages against Richard Schaefer for not signing fighters for promotional contracts. Schaefer is still an 8% shareholder of Golden Boy Promotions. Negotiations are being held by an arbitrator at this time.
Binkow was very successful in obtaining sponsorships for Golden Boy Promotion’s biggest fights and building relationships with sponsors. He was a significant part of helping Floyd Mayweather‘s last eight fights.
