By Robert Brizel, Head Real Combat Media Boxing Correspondent

Reading, Pennsylvania southpaw Frank Santos De Alba has a record of 12-1 with four knockouts. The super featherweight will fight his first title bout and second main event on Saturday evening, June 28, 2014, on an amateur and professional card promoted by Marshall Kauffman’s King’s Promotions. After five bouts of four rounds duration, De Alba will fight an eight rounder against Nogales, Mexico veteran Pablo Batres, 7-9 with two knockouts. The card will be held in Santander Arena in Reading, Pennsylvania.

Alba versus Batres will be for the vacant Universal Boxing Federation All America Super Featherweight title. In an interview exclusive, De Alba took a brief break from his final training preparations to take to Real Combat Media. Currently, De Alba is ranked eleventh in the United States by the United States Boxing Association.

Real Combat Media: “Frank, how do you feel now?”

Frank De Alba: “I feel great. I feel ready for Saturday night, and ready to put on a great show. This is my second main event, in (this past) April was my first main event, but this is my biggest main event, my biggest card. This time it will be a bigger crowd than my most recent win (an eight round decision) over Israel Suarez in Allentown.”

Real Combat Media: “What do you know about your Mexican opponent, Pablo Batres?”

Frank De Alba: “He’s 7-9. I don’t underestimate anybody. He’s a Mexican, and he’s coming in to win. I’m in top shape. I’m ready for the fight.”

Real Combat Media: “Will you be ready to move up to 10 round bouts for the title you win after this eight rounder?”

Frank De Alba: “After this fight, I’m looking for bigger and better things. The opponents are gonna get tougher, but I’m ready.”

Real Combat Media: “Who is your trainer?”

Frank De Alba: “My trainer is Anibal Adorno. It’s my fourth fight with him. He was a former assistant trainer of unbeaten lightweight prospect Felix Verdejo in San Juan, Puerto Rico.I always train hard. We (my corner) recently added a strength and conditioning trainer. “

Real Combat Media: “How have your sparring preparations being going?”

Frank De Alba: “We went up to Bronx, New York, for the best sparring. We sparred 30 rounds with Bronx light welterweight prospect Louis Cruz, and some Argentinian fighter in New York. We sparred them there in New York City, they sparred us here in Pennsylvania, and we also sparred each other in New Jersey.”

Real Combat Media: “Will Marshall Kauffman be in your corner? He is Reading’s best known promoter and trainer.”

Frank De Alba: “Marshall will always be in my corner. He was the one who taught me to throw my first punch. He helps me in the corner. Marshall knows my strengths and weaknesses. He knows how I fight. He knows everything about me. That gives me the confidence to win.”

Real Combat Media: “Will your bout on Saturday night with Pablo Badres go the distance, or will you knock him out or stop him?”

Frank De Alba: “We train to go eight hard rounds. I feel strong for this fight, so anything can happen!”
