Unified MMA returns on GFL with “Unified MMA 19” from the Mirage Banquet Hall in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on May 23. This will be an epic MMA card as it is highlighted by a title fight and features several high profile MMA standouts. Who will stand out, once the cage door closes?
In the main event, for the Unified MMA Welterweight Title, Chase Maxwell (9-4) battles WSOF vet Brandt Dewsbery (9-3-1). Hayabusa product Chase Maxwell is coming off an impressive win in the biggest fight of his career. Maxwell is a grappling specialist as 7 of his wins have come via tapout. Dewsbery won his highest profile fight in February when he defeated his opponent via RNC for WSOF. Dewsbery can match Maxwell on the ground, hold for hold, so this fight will turn into a chess match if it hits the canvas. Look for both men to work their striking game in the early going. One of these men is walking away with gold. Who will it be?
In the co-main event, UFC vet Tim Hague (14-8) fights vs Smealinho Rama (7-1) in a heavyweight scrap. Hague defeated Pat Barry during his career in the Octagon and is coming off a first round TKO victory with WSOF. Hague is only getting better with time and is in the middle of his best run as a pro. Expect heavy hands and quick combos from Hague. Rama is a relentless aggressor in the cage and always brings the fight to his opponent. He is a strong wrestler with great takedowns and takedown defense and could look to put Hague on his back early to avoid Hague’s punching power. This fight will be nonstop action from bell to bell.
Welterweights Rocky Biggs (5-0) and Mark Drummond (5-2) battle each other. Biggs is a heavy hitter and brings KO power with one punch into the cage. 4 of Biggs’ wins have come via KO or TKO. Drummond has won 5 of his last 6 and is well rounded in all aspects of MMA. Look for Drummond to keep his distance in the striking game and look for a takedown early in the fight to get Biggs off of his feet.
Featherweights Parwez Ghulam (3-1) and Behrang Yousefi (5-4) tangle with one another in what is sure to be another barnburner. Ghulam does everything with a fast pace while Yousefi is calm, cool and calculated.

(PRESS RELEASE) PITTSBURGH – Pinnacle Fighting Championships returns with its seventh installment of the Pittsburgh Challenge Series at the Greentree Sportsplex on May 24, and the organization’s first-ever professional bantamweight title will be on the line in the main event, as Cody “No Love” Garbrandt faces James Porter in a battle of two of the country’s top prospects. The main event is bolstered by a six-fight professional card, as well as eight top-level amateur bouts.
Fresh off of a second round TKO victory over Dominick Mazzotta, the 22-year-old Garbrandt (3-0 / fighting out of Sacramento, CA via Uhrichsville, OH) has continued training with Team Alpha Male along with Fight Club Pittsburgh in preparation for the next step in his career. With three knockout victories in three fights and now training with one of the best camps in all of mixed martial arts, Garbrandt will face the stiffest test of his career when he faces Porter for the inaugural PinnacleFC bantamweight title. Porter is no stranger to headlining fights, as he currently holds the AFA bantamweight title and the Kombat Zone bantamweight title. Still just 21 years old, he has faced the likes of Sergio Pettis and Carson Beebe, and also holds notable victories over Josh Killion, Larry DiGiulio, and Carson Gainey.
In the co-main event, Khama “The Death Star” Worthy (5-2 / fighting out of Pittsburgh, PA) will look to improve his record inside the PinnacleFC cage to 5-1 as he welcomes Anthony Morgan (5-2 / fighting out of Sevierville, TN) to Pittsburgh for the first time. Worthy is riding a four-fight winning streak, including a 20-second TKO victory over Jacob Butler at PinnacleFC 6 in March. Morgan has won his last two and looks to pull the upset victory against the hometown favorite.
A pair of lightweights will look for their second career win, as Adam “A.J.” Bosley (1-2 / fighting out of Uniontown, PA) takes on Mitchell Killeen (1-2 / fighting out of Littlestown, PA). Looking to snap a two-fight losing streak, Justin “The Hawk” Steave (5-4 / fighting out of Weirton, WV) returns to the PinnacleFC cage against Justin Steave will take on eight-time Bellator veteran Brylan Vanartsdalen 9-10 / fighting out of Philadelphia, PA). Steave has posted a 2-0 record in PinnacleFC fights, including victories over Mike Diggs and Amran Aliyev.
And finally, two PinnacleFC lightweight champions will make their respective professional debuts, as both Nick “NyQuil” Browne (0-0 / fighting out of Uniontown, PA) and Eric “Sizzle” Bledsoe (0-0 / fighting out of Wheeling, WV) will be in action. Looking to build off of his 10-1 record as an amateur including a 6-0 record in 2013 where he claimed the PinnacleFC lightweight title, Browne is set to face Jeff “Captain Caveman” Denz (2-3 / fighting out of Buffalo, NY) in a battle of gritty lightweights.
Bledsoe will open up the professional card, as he faces Zach “Kid Chaos” Cook (0-0 / fighting out of Columbus, OH) in a featherweight matchup. Bledsoe posted a 5-0 record as an amateur, including a knockout victory over Matt Conahan at PinnacleFC 5 and then a unanimous decision over Fadi Shuman at PinnacleFC 6 in March. Cook will make his first PinnacleFC appearance on the strength of a 9-6 amateur record, including a knockout victory in his last outing. The deep amateur lineup features some of the top contenders for PinnacleFC gold, including welterweight Kyle Holt (2-1), featherweight Ryan Arreola (3-0), bantamweight Alec Hohman (2-0), female bantamweight Jaime Chesney (1-2), and more. For full fight card and more details about this event, visit gfl.tv or click here
