Spanish MMA is here to stay with Ansgar Fighting League. AFL looks to become the #1 MMA promotion in Europe and is ready to make a huge splash to a worldwide audience with “Ansgar Fighting League 1” on May 10 with their inaugural show. MMA fans, this event is scheduled for 10 bouts featuring the best of the best from Europe. Don’t blink when these gladiators step into the fighting arena as they are sure to put on a show.
In the main event, Abner Lloveras (15-7-1) from Spain battles Pierre Chretien (8-2) of France. Lloveras has won 3 of his last 4 fights, and has amassed an impressive record, thanks in large part to his punching power. Lloveras brings a strong striking game into the bout and has shown an ability to end a fight with a single punch. Lloveras also has an underrated grappling game which he showed with submitting a previous opponent. Chretien has reeled off two first round TKOs in his last two fights and can match Lloveras in the striking department. In fact, Chretien might be even better in the standup as 5 of his wins have come via KO or TKO. Chretien will be head hunting early and often. If he connects it could be a short night. Chretien is an excellent kickboxer but has shown a weakness in the grappling department, having suffered both of his losses via submission. Lloveras might need to rely on his wrestling/grappling in this fight, because if he can get Chretien down on the mat, he will have an advantage.
In other action, Juan Manual Suarez (14-6) of Spain fights Tulio Palhares (2-15) of Brazil. Suarez won his last fight in Japan with a submission and is a rising prospect on the European MMA scene. Suarez is looking to make a name for himself in the United States and a spectacular win against a dangerous opponent will do that. Look for Suarez to put the pedal to the metal in the opening round and try and get Palhares out with punches. Palhares fights with a high risk-high reward style and his jiu-jitsu always makes him a dangerous opponent. In 17 fights, Palhares has only gone to a decision twice.
Artemij Sitenkov (15-11) of Lithuania battles Eduardo Felipe (21-13) of Brazil. Sitenkov won his last fight via armbar in the first round and has never shied away from a tough fight. Sitenkov has won all 15 of his victories via submission. He is a grappling wizard. Look for Sitenkov to press the action early and often and go for a takedown where he can utilize his world renowned submission game. Felipe has also shown a tendency to go for submissions and the Brazilian native will be more than happy to test his BJJ against the grappling of Sitenkov. Expect a chess match on the ground if the fight hits the canvas.
You won’t find more BANG for your buck so order this thrilling event. Be sure to catch all of the action LIVE on May 10 as AFL presents “Ansgar Fighting League 1”. This world debut is sure to be a can’t miss event. For full fight card and more details about this event, visit gfl.tv or click here

Wallace is always looking to finish the fight and has taken on all challengers in his career. Wallace will look to make it a quick night as he will be in attack mode from the opening bell. Gandulla is also a fast starter and has 5 first round stoppages. Gandulla is an active striker but brings a solid grappling game into the mix too. These two will light up the night sky when the cage door closes behind them. Expect fireworks.
In the co-main event, Michael Graves (4-0) from ATT in Florida fights Sergej Juskevic (13-6-2) of Independent in Toronto in a welterweight scrap. All of Graves’ wins have come via first round stoppage but he will be facing his toughest challenge on May 10. Graves has KO power in both hands and can end the fight with one punch. Juskevic is on a 2 fight win streak, both by submission. This will be a contrast in styles as Juskevic is comfortable on the ground and will look to get the fight to the mat where he can work is wrestling and grappling game. He will have to withstand the blitzkrieg that Graves will surely have waiting for him. Don’t blink.
In the amateur ranks in the heavyweight division, Steven Arens (3-1) of Champion Fight Club takes on Kyle Francotti (3-1) of Dragon MMA. Arens likes to swing for the fences and he is constantly head hunting. Francotti brings a strong grappling game into the fight but can also let his hands go if need be. There’s no telling what is going to happen when these to goliaths step into the cage. Someone is going down hard.

In title action, Kris Gratalo (7-1) battles Bassil Hafez (4-1) for the XFE Amateur Middleweight Championship. Gratalo already holds a title with a different organization and will be looking to add to his collection. Gratalo’s only loss was via a controversial split decision. Gratalo is a strong wrestler who has a great gas tank and has outworked nearly every opponent he has ever faced over the course of the entire fight. Hafez has KO power in both hands, but is also an expert grappler. He won the title back in 2013 and looks to validate that performance with his first title defense against Gratalo. This will be a clash of two contrasting styles when these warriors lock up in the cage.
Juan Sanchez (1-0) will be making his XFE debut on May 10. Sanchez is a blue chip prospect from Delaware that has displayed a strong grappling game in his previous fight. After a tough, drawn out battle, Sanchez was able to finish the fight with a rear naked choke in the final round to score the decisive win. Look for Sanchez to get the fight to the mat early and often where he can work his submission game against his TBD opponent.

Velasquez brings heavy hands into the fight but is also strong in the grappling game, especially the scrambles, as he has gotten two rear naked chokes in his career. Bodden last fought in November 2013 and has been chomping at the bit to unify the titles. Look for Bodden to bring his strong wrestling game and lethal kicks into the cage. This fight has fight of the year potential between these two young, blue chip prospects.
