HBO Bombs Away! Marquez over Bradley, Tale of Two Orlandos, Fight Card Preview

By Robert Brizel, Head RCM Boxing Correspondent

Tonight, its Juan Manuel Dynamita Marquez versus Timothy the desert storm Bradley.

Juan Manuel Marquez, his night on Home Box Office in the main event tonight, October 12, 2013, means bombs away. If Marquez had get Timothy Bradley Jr. out of there at Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, just like he did Manny Pacquiao, a rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr. will be the ultimate Armageddon. Marquez, age 40, now 55-6-1, 40 knockouts, a Mexican fighting out of Anaheim, California, may find chasing WBO Welterweight champion Bradley, age 30, 30-0, 12 knockouts, Palm Springs, California, tougher than it seems. Bradley is a good stick and move artist, and a slick elusive target with a big heart.

Marquez has to get inside and brutalize Bradley to the body where it hearts, and use power punches which score with effectiveness to anesthetize Bradley to the head and body. If Marquez wins, it will be by a brutal knockout. If Bradley wins, it will be by 12 round decision in which Marquez misses the mark pretty much all night and goes the distance in wicked frustration. This bout does not seem likely to go the distance, but who knows? Bradley better be careful, as we know what happens if you get wild and careless with Marquez. If could happen Marquez might be forced to get Bradley out of there in the 12th and final round. Jesus Soto Karass did it with Andre Berto. Who knows? Tonight we’ll see.
