Leon Moore and Rafael Vazquez in Crossroads WBA Bout at Resorts Casino Aqueduct

By Robert Brizel, Head RCM Boxing Correspondent

New York, NY (September 16, 2013)–In an international fight night, Guyanese southpaw Leon ‘Hurry Up’ Moore and Puerto Rico’s Rafael ‘Dynamite’ Vazquez will battle for the vacant New York State and World Boxing Association Fedalatin Super Bantamweight titles in the ten round main event of a scheduled ten bout boxing card at Resorts New World Casino Aqueduct Raceway on Saturday, September 21, 2013, promoted by New Legend Boxing, Old World Boxing, and W.O.N. Promotions.

Moore, 30-2, 24 knockouts, Georgetown, Guyana, has won 12 bouts in a row since 2007, but only four of those wins come over fighters with winning records. Contractual disputes grounded Moore for 22 months until he returned in the Dominican Republic in February 2013. Vazquez, 8-1, a Puerto Rican fighting out of Brooklyn, New York, will seek to expose Moore. Vazquez will have to fight past six rounds for the first time in his career. Moore, who has been ten rounds twice and 12 rounds four times, will try to take Vazquez into the later rounds and stop him, so Vazquez will have to be in top form in what promises to be a very exciting fight. Moore is 34 years old, and Vazquez is 35 years old, so the bout is do or die for both combatants.

In the preliminary bout to the main event, 10-0-2 light middleweight prospect Frank Galarza of Brooklyn will battle 6-0-1 Rich Neves of New York City fin an eighty rounder for the vacant New York State Light Middleweight title.  Neves has never beaten a fighter with a winning record, and Galarza should win this bout big by overpowering Neves from the third or fourth round on.

Also scheduled for the card will be: 6-0 super featherweight prospect Bryant Cruz versus Jesus Bayron; female super featherweight Amanda Serrano; super featherweights Angel Garcia and Nuwan Jayacody; featherweights Gary Stark Jr. and Jonathan Alcantara; featherweights Allan Phelan and Benjamin Burgos’ light middleweight Villi Bello will debut against Anthony Birmingham; cruiserweights Jay Rodriguez and Eric George; and 5-0 heavyweight prospect Evan Nedd versus Ytalo Perea.
