WHY:
On Thursday, Sept. 26th, Classic Entertainment & Sports will host its official kick-off party to launch the countdown to its highly-anticipated mixed martial arts event, “Rise Or Fall,” which is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 4th, at Twin River Casino.
Tuesday’s rally is open to the public. Fighters scheduled for the Oct. 4th card will be attendance for photo opportunities and autographs. Pawtucket middleweight Todd “The Hulk” Chattelle (11-9, 8 KOs) will face Kentucky veteran John Troyer (14-9, 5 KOs) in the main event. “Rise Or Fall” also features the return of Woonsocket, R.I., bantamweight Andre Soukhamthath (5-1, 3 KOs), who will face Billy Vaughn (12-15, 3 KOs) of Columbus, Ohio, and heavyweight John Johnston (3-0, 3 KOs) of Melrose, Mass., who will battle veteran Chris Guillen (13-15, 1 KO) of St. George, Utah.
Lightweight Charles Rosa (4-0, 2 KOs), a resident of Delray Beach, Fla., who graduated from Rhode Island’s Johnson & Wales University and made his Twin River debut in August, will return to face Steve McCabe (6-13, 5 KOs) of Philadelphia.
CES will also make history on Oct. 4th with its first female MMA bout as Fall River, Mass., nativeKaline Medeiros (1-3, 1 KO) faces Rachel Sazoff (0-0) of Hamilton, N.J. Lightweight Marc Stevens (14-8, 6 KOs) of Lorraine, N.Y., will battle Philadelphia’s Andrew Osborne (7-6, 2 KOs) in a three-round bout and Meriden, Conn., lightweight Willie Brown Jr. (0-0) will search for his first win against Angelo Rodriguez (1-0, 1 KO) of Worcester, Mass. WelterweightTommy Venticinque (0-0) of Warwick, R.I., will face Metheun, Mass., veteran Brandon Chagnon (3-4).
