Inside Source: Boxer Tommy Morrison could be 24 to 48 hours From Death
By Robert Brizel, Head Real Combat Media Boxing Correspondent
Atlantic City, NJ (August 25th, 2013)– A credible reliable inside source ringside at the Bally’s Hotel and Casino boxing card on Saturday night, August 24, 2013, has stated he has been in touch with the family of former world heavyweight champion Tommy ‘The Duke’ Morrison and the boxer is 24 to 48 hours from death, if not sooner than that. Morrison, 45, has a career boxing record of 48-3-1 with 42 knockouts, and 1-0 in Muay Thai.
Vinny LaManna, father and manager of rapidly rising middleweight contender Thomas ‘Cornflake’ LaManna, a personal friend of the Morrison family, stated that he had been in immediate touch with Tommy Morrison’s wife and “The big story is coming. Tommy Morrison has 24 to 48 hours left to live, probably less than that.”
However, Mr. LaManna would neither confirm nor deny the causes of Mr. Morrison’s health situation. Tommy Morrison’s wife, Trisha, has steadfastly denied in email correspondence her husband has Aids and continues to claim Morrison is not infected with the HIV virus. Morrison, the former World Boxing Organization World Heavyweight champion, retired in 1996 when he tested positive for the HIV virus which causes AIDS. Morrison went public in an international press conference, and in a talk on the Maury Povich Television Show in which he confirmed his HIV Positive status and decision to retire.
Subsequently, Morrison claimed he had a false positive test a decade later and returned to the ring in various jurisdictions where he was able to supply his own paperwork and / or the HIV blood test was not required. His last appeared in the boxing ring in 2008, and fought a Muay Thai bout in 2009. He last appeared in public in 2011, the same year he refused to take blood testing as required by the Canadian Quebec Boxing Commission. Morrison has also been incarcerated for various alcohol, drug and other offenses, for which he was found both innocent and guilty.
Several days ago, an article by Elizabeth Merrill on ESPN.com with Diana Morrison, Tommy Morrison’s mother, told a vastly different story than Morrison’s wife. Diana Morrison stated about her son Tommy that he has full blown AIDS and believes Tommy is in his final days. According to Morrison’s mother, Tommy’s skin is jaundiced, his liver is failing, and is in his final days in the end stages. Morrison’s mother stated in the ESPN interview her son has been bedridden for a year, cannot speak, and is being kept alive artificially with the help of a feeding tube and a ventilator, much the same tragic feeding tube and ventilator situation as the still hospitalized 95 year old former South African President Nelson Mandela is in during his life’s final days half a world away.
According to Morrison’s mother, who resides in Missouri, her son Tommy is presently living out his final moments in Nebraska, and both her son Tommy and wife Trisha have remained in denial about Tommy’s HIV status. It is not known is the Morrisons accepted medical treatment appropriate to Tommy’s accurate diagnosis.
According to Morrison’s wife, Tommy was scheduled to have surgery this past Thursday to remove a gastrointestinal tube in a procedure which was not AIDS related. According to Morrison’s wife, Trisha, Tommy is afficted with Miller Fisher Syndrome / Guillain Barre Syndrome, a very rare nervous disease that causes abnormal muscle coordination, paralysis of the eye muscles, absence of the tendon reflexes, muscle weakness and respiratory failure. Many individuals suffering from full blown AIDS suffer from other medication complications as a consequence of their medical condition. There is no documentation evidence Morrison has the condition his wife’s claims, and if so, the root of its cause. Morrison’s wife claims he has undergone intravenous immunoglobulin treatment, was ventilated due to pneumonia, suffered broken teeth sustained during the intubation, had fluid around his heart and lungs drained, endured urinary tract infections, and endured hemolytic anemia and seizures due to contra medications.
