Broner vs. Malignaggi Promotional Drama Turns Negative – Exclusive Jessica Corazon Interview

New York,NY (June 27th, 2013)– Adrien Broner vs. Paulie Malignaggi had a very successful turnout last Saturday at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY with a sold out arena which produced over 1.3 million viewers on Showtime. A large part of the promotional success was because of former twenty six year old model, Jessica Corazon of Bellmore, NY. Jessica allegedly was the ex girlfriend of Paulie Malignaggi. However, the friendship failed and she became friends with Paulie’s opponent, Adrien Broner instead.
During the initial press conference in May, Broner announced that he was friends with Jessica and that Paulie had hit her. Adrien said he was going to make Paulie pay for this in the ring. During this promotion the two fighters battled verbally in interviews and Paulie claimed that Jessica was not his girlfriend. He claimed that she was just a friend and was not in a serious relationship with her. After the fight, Paulie showed class by congratulating Broner by shaking his hand. Malignaggi lost a close split decision to Broner. Jim Gray, the Showtime announcer interviewed Broner and asked him if he had any regrets with the press conferences and the news conferences. Adrien replied, “Negative, I’m good, I beat Paulie, I left with his belt and his girl”. After that statement he set off a lot of anger in the boxing community. Especially after Paulie took the time to congratulate Broner before the interview. Paulie then screamed at Broner, “Lets not get personal. Don’t brag about taking my side piece and you don’t get laid.”
Real Combat Media Boxing Radio Host, Krysti Rosario spoke with Jessica on Tuesday during our live weekly broadcast and discussed this entire situation. In this exclusive interview, Jessica said she once cared about Paulie during the time they were together. However the friendship failed when Paulie allegedly became physical with her. She also stated that she was once pregnant with Paulie’s child. Jessica then said she has a video of Malignaggi being physical and that she never went to the police because she did not want to ruin his boxing career or for him to lose his commentating job. After the fight, Jessica stated she was harassed and threatened on social media by Paulie’s friends. She stated that she just wants to move on with her life and does not want any more correspondence with Malignaggi. She says she just wants the harassment to end. Jessica has remained close friends with Adrien Broner after the fight.
After our radio broadcast, Jessica stated on her Facebook that she filed a restraining order.
