Boxing star heavily linked to PED scandal

Hull, UK (January 29th, 2012)–A document has recently surfaced that implicates a number of the worlds top athletes in a drug scandal that could turn out to be as large as the Balco saga. The list of names are attached to a company called Biogenisis, who were originally thought of as an anti aging clinic. It now appears that the company have been providing Performance Enhancing Drugs to a whole host of athletes. The spreadsheet that contains the medical records of the athletes affiliated with the company was leaked to Miami New Times by a former employee of Biogenisis. The company closed down just over a month ago with the own disappearing and currently unable to be found.
Unfortunately for boxing, the name of one of it’s star boxers appeared on the list.Cuba’s Yuriorkas Gamboa appeared on the list of athletes alongside the likes of Nelson Cruz and Alex Rodriguez. Several messages have been left for Gamboa and his trainer but none have been responded too. Although Gamboa has never failed a drug test, his links with Biogenisis are bound to create a lot of suspicion.
in 2009 Gamboa features in the notebook of Tony Bosche, who supplied drugs to manyMiamibased athletes. The notebook states that Bosche sent a HGH (Human Growth Hormone) and testosterone cream package to Gamboa, who was set to fight Rios the following April. As if the package wasn’t enough, Bosche also told Gamboa that he needed to become a clean athlete once again from the 1st of December. We can only assume this would be to pass the necessary drug tests.
Although Gamboa is heavily linked to Biogenisis, he has never failed a drug test and has not yet been given the chance to defend him self on this issue. It does seem however, that the only way to truly decipher whether an athlete is clean, is for them to undergo year round blood testing. As the notes of Tony Bosche prove, it is easy to navigate around a set testing period.
