UFC Signs Ronda Rousey & Miesha Tate

The UFC just made history this week and signed two of the top female fighters in the world. The world’s largest mma promotion signed Miesha Tate and Strikeforce World Champ, Ronda Rousey.
This comes after the strong rumors that Strikeforce will be shutting down business after their final event that is scheduled in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in January.
Miesha Tate was a former Strikeforce Bantamweight Champion and lost the title earlier this year by a submission armbar to Ronda Rousey. She later went on to defeat Julie Kedzie.
Ronda Rousey is becoming a mainstream star and has really helped put Women’s MMA on the map. Rousey has won every fight in her career by an armbar submission. Ronda Rousey is also considered by many, to be the most dominant mma female fighter to ever compete.
Years ago, the UFC was opposed to women’s mma, due to the lack of talent in the women’s division. This is great news for women’s mixed martial arts and will inspire many more female fighters to compete for a possible chance at joining the UFC.
