Last Saturday two events brought action to Brazilian’s MMA schedule in Rio de Janeiro. The 35th Shooto edition were preceded by the first edition of USC (Upper Sport Combat), also organized by Dedé Pederneiras (Shooto’s owner).
USC’s objective is to reveal new MMA talents and had ten fights broadcasted on TV before Shooto 35.
The main highlight of UCS was the fight between Fernando Bruno and José Carlos Metal, both going to the stand up game and changing a lot. After a vicious punch by Bruno, Metal suffered a knockdown. With the fight on the ground, Fernando Bruno tried a guilliotine. For a while, the submission was not tight but even when it gets tight, José Carlos did not tap and went to sleep. Bruno’s victory at 2 minutes and 47 seconds on the second round .

Right after the first edition of USC, the 35th edition of Shooto Brasil didn’t disappointed MMA fans around the country. With only 2 of 10 fights going to decision, Shooto 35 has great highlights, besides Ex-TUF Brasil 1 Jonh Macapá fighting in the co-main event agains Rafael Macedo da Silva.
In the main event of the evening, Ismael Marmota would fight Daniel Acácio, but Acácio is competing to get a place at TUF Brasil 2 and Nova União’s Juliano Gladiador took his place againtst Ismael Marmota.
Ismael dominated the fight all the time and won by a Kimura on the second round.
