Evander Holyfield turns 50 on Friday the 19th and he is expected to announce his retirment from boxing….” When a man turns 50 it is probably time to take off the gloves”… “The game’s been good to me and I hope I’ve been good to the game,” Holyfield told Bryan Armen Graham of Sports Illustrated . “I’m 50 years old and I’ve pretty much did everything that I wanted to do in boxing.”
The Real Deal with a pro record won 44 (KO 29), lost 10 (KO 2), drawn 2 (57total), with rounds boxed 443, and KO% 50.88, he is the one and only 4-time Heavyweight Champion. His amateur record stands for 160 wins and 14 loses and he was an Olympic Bronze Medalist in 1984 (178 lbs). His victories include beating Tyson twice along with wins against George Foreman, Riddick Bowe, James Douglas and Larry Holmes. He was the Ring Magazine Fighter of the year for 1987, 1996(upset of the Year, Tyson Fight, 1996), & 1997.
Since he hasn’t fought since May of last year, some may have thought Holyfield retired years ago, but this time it seems to be for real and the man won’t be convinced otherwise.

Είναι ο ένας και μοναδικός 4 φορές παγκόσμιος πρωταθλητής και έχει καταφέρει νίκες υπέρ του Tyson, Foreman,Bowe, Douglas, Holmes. Το ρεκόρ του ως ερασιτέχνης ήταν 160 νίκες και 14 ήττες και ήταν χάλκινος Ολυμπιονίκης το 1984. Το περιοδικό Ring Magazine τον ανακήρυξε μαχητή της χρονιάς το 1987,1996(την ίδια χρονιά ανατροπή της χρονιάς), 1997.
Έχει να ανέβει στα ρίνγκ από τον περασμένο Μάιο και πολλοί υπέθεσαν πως έχει ήδη αποσυρθεί, αλλά καθώς φαίνεται αυτή την φορά κανείς δεν μπορεί να του αλλάξει γνώμη.
