JONATHAN “BOMBA” GONZALEZ IS BACK TO THE RING NEXT FRIDAY, OCTOBER 19, IN KISSIMMEE FLORIDA
Unbeaten prospect Jonathan “Bomba” Gonzalez will return to the ring next Friday, October 19, at the Kissimmee Civic Center in Kissimmee, Florida, as part of the show WBO Night of Champions, headlined by the clash between featherweight contender Orlando “El Fenomeno” Cruz and Jorge “El Feroz” Pazos, in an All Star Boxing presentation, in association with PR Best Boxing Promotions (PRBBP).
Gonzalez (10-0, 9 KOs), 21, debuted professionally on April 2011, led by PRBBP and Top Rank, fighting nine times in his first year and winning the WBO Flyweight Youth World Title. But his career was stopped after his first two fights in 2012. His last bout was on August 18, when he beat Saul Hernandez in Mexico. Gonzalez has fought just three times in 2012.
“I’ve been rather frustrated with the course of my career has been because I heard people who approached me to advise me, but they didn’t have the best intentions, they lied to me, and my career was stop”, Gonzalez said. “I want to tell to all those young fighters as me, to be alert with these people who approached them. If you are part of a good company (Promoter) that is taking your career, there’s no reason to believe in people coming with other intentions”.
Now, the 2010 Central American and Caribbean and 2008 Youth World Amateur Championship gold medal is happy to back to the ring next Friday, October 19, in Florida.
“I’m very happy right now because I want to fight. I’ve kept training and I hope to continue with my goal of becoming a world champion”, Gonzalez said.
Gonzalez’s foe will be announced soon.
