Chalk one more up for the UFC. This another example of a card that was trashed by many fans for not having a championship main event and still being a PPV card, but turned out to have spectacular fights and wowed everyone. Two new The Ultimate Fighterwinners have been crowned, Fabricio Werdum made short work of Mike Russow, and Wanderlei Silva and Rich Franklin had a rematch that was on par with their epic first match.
Fabricio Werdum was always a contender in the Heavy Weight division, but with his knock out of Russow, he solidified himself as one of the top 5 in the game. Early in the first round, Werdum caught Russow with a hard punch and finished him off on the ground. Werdum in his post fight interview stated that he believes he is ready for a rematch with Junior Dos Santos, and if Dos Santos defeats Cain Velasquez, we could very well see that rematch.
The two TUF matches proved to be quite entertaining, as Rony Marriano Bezzera and Cezar Ferreira won the Feather Weight and Middle Weight titles, respectively. Both Rony and Cezar capitalized on their striking advantages and took home a unanimous decision victory.
In the main event, Rich Franklin and Wanderlei Silva put on another great showing. Franklin controlled the match with pinpoint boxing, except in second round when Wanderlei caught Rich with a punch and almost finished Rich, but the bell saved Rich. All together, it was a great match and it was a great set-up fight for Franklin to transition back into the Middle Weight division.
