The Korean Zombie Impresses on UFC Fuel TV 3

By: Anthony L. Gonzalez

The “Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung (13-3 MMA, 3-0 UFC) looked outstanding last night and was able to submit Dustin Poirier (12-2 MMA, 4-1 UFC) with a beautiful D’arce choke, in an exciting 4 round war. Jung was able to set up the submission by a nasty uppercut followed by a flying knee. Once Poirer was stunned, Jung took him down and then finished Poirer with the submission at the official time of 1:07 in the 4th round.

Jung is also coming off a 7 second KO over the very tough Mark Hominick. Jung definitely showed last night that he is one of the best at 145lbs in the world. He will definitely move up the Real Combat Media MMA rankings with that impressive performance.

Here is what Jung had to say, “There are lots of fighters in Asia who are better than me, and they need the opportunity to get on the big stage and perform,” Jung said.

“You can’t really ignore the Asian market. They really need to come to Asia and put on a fight, and maybe U.S. fighters will get to experience the time difference and all the stuff we have to deal with when we come here.”

“I want Jose Aldo,” Jung said.
