Bert Sugar who is a Hall Of Fame Boxing Writer Passed at age 75
Bert Sugar, an iconic boxing writer and sports historian who was known for his trademark cigar, died Sunday of cardiac arrest. He was 75.

His family was by his side as he died of lung cancer . Here are a few words from his daughter.

Sugar was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2005. Bert Sugar wrote around 80 books, including “100 greatest boxers of all time”. He also appeared in a few movies. His most notable movie was “The Great White Hype”.

Sugar was born in Washington, D.C., in 1936. He graduated from Maryland and went to law school at Michigan. Bert Sugar began writing in the late 70’s.
