Last night, Angel Hernandez had to go through extensive testing ordered by the Connecticut Athletic Commission, in order to be clear for tonight’s main event. Boxing 360, raised certain concerns for their fighter’s health and well-being claiming that Hernandez was unfit to fight and should not be allowed to fight on the main event card on ESPN Friday Night Fights.

Boxing 360 tweeted this on Feb 8th about Angel Hernandez:

We are the Promoter of record for Angel Hernandez and we want to protect him from himself. Angel is not able to compete physically

Angel has a warrior heart but he is done. We will do everything to protect him for getting hurt against a great fighter like Andrade

we are the promoter for Angel Hernandez and we will protect him from himself

we will do everything we can. Appeal to ESPN etc. we don’t want blood on our hands and on our watch

We have done and will continue to do everything we can for the right cause. Angel Hernandez shouldn’t fight. He is severely damaged.

The Connecticut commission took these allegations seriously enough to have Hernandez go through a series of tests last night to make sure that he is fit to fight in the main event. I spoke with a member of team Hernandez this morning and he confirmed, that Hernandez passed every test that was requested by the Connecticut Athletic Commission and found him fit to continue with the fight. I was also informed that the commission is very upset with Boxing 360 for their allegations toward Hernandez of not being fit to fight and putting tonight’s fight at risk.

As it stands, the main event will continue as scheduled on ESPN Friday Night Fights at 9:00pm ET.
