Top Rank has announced today that WBO Junior Welterweight Champion Timothy Bradley will be Manny Pacquiao’s next opponent on June 9th at the MGM grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“From our end, the fight is done,” Koncz said. “I just got off the phone with (Top Rank’s) Bob Arum and Manny, so we’re done. I don’t assume there will be a problem from the Bradley side. We came to terms with Top Rank on the fight and Manny has approved everything. This morning I had a number of conversations with Bob negotiating the June 9 fight and I relayed everything to Manny.”
Tim Bradley still has to agree to terms according to ESPN. Bradley should be making his decision early this week.
The past few weeks there has been many names flying around as to who Manny Pacquiao would be facing in either May or June. The mega fight was suppose to happen on May 5th, or so we were lead to believe with the on going rumors and media war that Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. were having. Like usual, nothing ever came about between the two parties and the fans were left at the alter once more.
Last month Bob Arum made a list of four possible opponents that could face Manny Pacquiao, Real Combat Media released this article, Arum To Meet Pacquiao In The Philippines To Discuss Future Opponents on Jan 3rd, there were four names on that list.
Many had the feeling that Arum was going to match up undefeated WBO Junior Welterweight Timothy Bradley in June against WBO Welterweight Champion Manny Pacquiao. Arum was very persistent on having Pacquiao fight in June and is one of the reason’s why the talks between Mayweather Jr. and Pacquiao failed again.
