*Robert Brizel (2025-2026) Prediction Record: 144-40-9, 7-4 in Major Bouts
Orlando, Florida (September 29th, 2026)– DAZN, Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing and Boxlab Promotions will present eight bouts featuring 10 unbeaten prospects at Caribe Royal Orlando on Friday, October 2, 2026. The card will feature two main event attraction bouts on DAZN: Jordan Orozco Hernandez versus Yusniel Abrahante in a 10-round bantamweight bout; and Omari ‘Banger’ Jones versus Alan Sanchez in an eight-round super welterweight bout. The original May 30, 2026 date for Jones versus Sanchez was rescheduled after Sanchez was injured in training.
The fight will headline Project Series 2, a boxing series designed to feature rising stars and upcoming prospects in the Orlando, Florida area.
2024 Olympic Bronze medalist Omari Jones, 7-0 with four knockouts, Orlando, Florida, is heavily favored with odds at around -2500 to -5000 to defeat Alan Sanchez, 24-7-1 with 10 knockouts, Fairfield, California, by way of Guadalajara, Mexico, the underdog at +900 to +1143. This reporter favors Jones to win by eight-round decision over Sanchez in a highly competitive bout. Inactive since May 2025, Sanchez did some training work in Stockton, California, in the gym of mixed martial artist and boxer Nate Diaz. Sanchez has been in training more recently at the JL Tepito Boxing Club in downtown Fairfield, Connecticut.
Sanchez had a spectacular job, a solid work rate, and a dangerous straight right, which, when it lands consistently, takes his opponents apart. Sanchez has one good chance, and that is to use his experience and ring generalship to outpoint Jones technically.
Jones is age 23, 6’1 with 70 inches of reach, while Sanchez is age 35, 5’11” with a 69-inch reach. Jones has power, with a 57 percent knockout ratio, great hand speed, and foot movement and agility. It will be hard for the more experienced Sanchez to catch Jones once Jones gets to work and begins scoring jabs for points and looking for openings for the right hand. Sanchez will probably be on the defensive for the majority of the bout, leaving him unable to win most rounds on the three scorecards of the judges.
Jordan Orozco Hernandez, 17-0 with 17 knockouts, Nicaragua, ranked sixth in the world at bantamweight by the World Boxing Association, is predicted by this reporter to win by stoppage over 8-2 Cuban southpaw Yusniel Abrahante of Louisville, Kentucky.
Hernandez has a terrifying 100 percent knockout percentage ratio. While no odds were yet posted for this bout at the time of this preview, Hernandez has demolished all of his opponents and, as such, will be the Moneyline odds favorite because he has game changing power in both hands and is a verified closer, at least at the lower levels.
However, Abrahante is a dangerous underdog. The Cuban is coming off an upset win over 5-0 Luis Coria. Abrahante is a durable technical fighter. He can survive the first three rounds; he will try to use superior foot movement, technical hand speed, and defensive ability to outpoint Hernandez. As such, Hernandez must be prepared to fight a technical war and look for a later-round stoppage if Abrahante does not fall early. A most interesting matchup which could prove difficult to score if it goes to the scorecards.
Robert Brizel’s Caribe Royal Orlando Undercard Predictions
David McWater 8-0 Southpaw super middleweight prospect Donte Layne of Elmont, Long Island, is predicted to win by eight-round decision over 11-2 Keithland King of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
Cuban super middleweight 7-0 southpaw prospect Ronnie Alvarez, Providence, Rhode Island, by way of Ciego de Avila, Cuba, is predicted to win by eight-round decision over 12-2 southpaw Narciso Carmona of Sevilla, Andalucia, Spain.
4-0 featherweight prospect Fidencio Hernandez is predicted to win by knockout over 4-0 Diego Yaniel Ortiz Nieves in a scheduled six-round bout. There are eight knockouts in eight pro bouts between the two combatants, making a decision highly unlikely in this bout.
9-1 local Orlando super lightweight prospect Jusiyah Shirley is expected to defeat 6-2-1 Kevin Castillo of Miami, Florida, by way of Quito, Ecuador.
6-0 local Orlando, Florida lightweight prospect Angel Hernandez III is predicted to win by knockout over 1-2 Dulio Arath Jaramillo Barboza of Chihuahua, Mexico. Hernandez has six knockouts in his six pro appearances. Barboza has been stopped in his last two bouts.
In the opening bout on the card, in a battle of super flyweight prospects, 1-0 Ryan Santiago of Kissimmee, Florida, by way of Ponce, Puerto Rico, is predicted to win by four-round decision over 1-0 Jesus Ivan Molina of Chihuahua, Mexico.
