WARRANT & ACTIVE SEARCH ISSUED FOR GERVONTA DAVIS
Miami, Florida (January 15th, 2026)– An active arrest warrant was issued for WBA lightweight champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis on Wednesday, January 14, 2026. The Miami Gardens Police Department, in collaboration with the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, is currently conducting a manhunt to locate and apprehend the 31-year-old boxer.
The warrant stems from a domestic violence incident alleged to have occurred on October 27, 2025, at a gentlemen’s club in Miami Gardens, where Davis’s ex-girlfriend, Courtney Rossel, was working. Davis faces three primary charges, which are attempted kidnapping, false imprisonment, and battery.
According to police, surveillance footage from the club corroborates the victim’s account that Davis grabbed her by the hair and throat before forcefully dragging her toward a parking garage. The victim reported sustaining minor injuries, including visible bruising.
These legal developments have significantly impacted Davis’s professional career. A highly anticipated exhibition bout against Jake Paul was officially canceled following the initial filing of a civil lawsuit related to this incident in late 2025.
As of January 15, 2026, Davis remains a fugitive. His trainer has dismissed previous rumors of retirement as “fake news.” However, his boxing future is now uncertain due to the severity of the potential prison sentences, which could exceed 15 years for kidnapping charges under Florida law. Davis currently holds the WBA lightweight title and remains undefeated.
