Ike Ibeabuchi Faces New Opponent Idris Afinni August 23 in Lagos

 Lagos, Nigeria (August 21st, 2025)– 20-0 former number one heavyweight contender Ike ‘The President’ Ibeabuchi, attempting a comeback in Lagos, Nigeria at age 52, will face a replacement opponent on August 23, 2025, at Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos, after former heavyweight contender Danny Williams pulled out due to injury.

 Ibeabuchi will face Idris Afinni, age 40, 18-8-2 with 15 knockouts, Lagos, Nigeria, a winner of four his last five bouts by knockouts, including a second-round knockout of 12-4 Martins Cyril John at Jalisco Field Osodi in Lagos on August 2, 2025. Afinni is taking this bout on less than three weeks of notice after winning his last previous bout in Lagos.

 The Lagos fight card featuring Ibeabuchi versus Afinni will be broadcast pay-per-view steaming at $29.99 at the website for www.prizefighting.tv.

Ibeabuchi is predicted to win by stoppage in the later rounds of the scheduled 12 rounder. At press time, it is not known if a national or Pan African title will be at stake.  In the preliminary to the main event bout, lightweight Fatiu Ijomani, 10-0 with 10 knockouts, Lagos, Nigeria, is predicted to win by eight-round decision over Williams Omosu, 4-4-2 with two knockouts, Lagos, Nigeria. 3-0 southpaw female Nigerian cruiserweight Blessing Chukwuede and 18-0-2 Nigerian lightweight prospect Emmanuel Abimbola are also scheduled to fight on the card and are predicted to win.
