JAKE PAUL WINS HIS 6TH STRAIGHT FIGHT OVER FORMER WBC CHAMP, JULIO CESAR CHAVEZ JR. – FULL CARD HIGHLIGHTS
Anaheim, CA (June 29th, 2025)– Cruiserweight Jake Paul (12–1, 7 KOs) defeated former middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (54–7–1, 34 KOs) in a ten-round unanimous decision on Saturday night at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. The match started off slow. Paul’s jab hit its mark throughout the night. Though Paul seemed tired, Chavez started the fight slow, until the late rounds when he unleashed some tremendous power punches causing Paul to retreat. Junior’s comeback effort was eventually inadequate and happened too late. Paul earned 97–93, 99–91, and 98–92 to win.
Having won a unanimous twelve-round unanimous decision over Yuniel Dorticos (27-3, 25 KOs),unified WBA/WBO cruiserweight champion Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez (48-1, 30 KOs) successfully defended his world titles. Zurdo started slowly, then pulled away to a 115-112, 115-112, 117-110 ruling. Dorticos was penalized a point in the tenth round for throwing low blows.
In the fourth round of a WBA welterweight elimination, the undefeated WBA #5 Raul “Cugar” Curiel (16-0-1, 14 KOs) defeated the previously undefeated WBA #11 Victor Rodriguez (16-1-1, 9 KOs). Curiel closed off Rodriguez’s career by delivering an uppercut.
In the first round, undefeated Floyd Schofield (19-0, 13 KOs) defeated former world champion Tevin Farmer (33-9-1, 8 KOs) in just 78 seconds. Farmer was brought to the ground twice. Schofield’s triumph was amazing.
Over ten rounds, the renowned woman ring legend Holly Holm (34-2-3, 9 KOs) defeated Yolanda Guadalupe Vega Ochoa (10-1, 1 KO) in a dominating unanimous decision. The marks were 100-90 thrice. A world-rated bantamweight, John “Scrappy” Ramirez (15-1, 9 KOs) defeated seasoned Josue Jesus Morales (33-19-5, 14 KOs) in eight rounds of unanimous decision.
Rene “Gemelo” Alvarado (35-16, 22 KOs), a fading past world champion, had enough in the tank to defeat the previously undefeated Victor Morales (20-1-1, 10 KOs) across ten rounds before winning by unanimous decision. Scores were 80-72, 79-73, and 80-72. Before the fight, Alvarado had lost eight of his previous eleven matches; the scores were 96–94, 99–91, and 99–91.
